Saturday Journal

Yesterday was way off track of my norm. Most of what we are taught in dieting culture would indicate that I should’ve work up today 5-10 lbs. heavier. That wasn’t the case today. It is often not the case, but let’s talk about the times that is true. If you eat like crap today and you wake up heavier then you have 2 influences on that:

The weight of food you ate

The water weight retained as a result

That’s it… You can’t gain 5 lbs. of fat in a day. You can’t even gain 1lb in a day. You should also anticipate 3-8lbs of water fluctuations throughout the day. It will be slightly different for each person but you can see this for yourself. Just step on the scale at various points in your day. Wake up, after using that toilet, before your meal, after your meal, before bed and every point in between. You will see your weight fluctuate each time you step on the scale. It is a crude way of measuring your gravitational pull towards the earth.  So, use the scale for a guide but do place all of your cards on this one tool.

Today went well, I did not track calories or hours. I stuck with my normal meal window to keep on track for tomorrow and the rest of the week. My fasting time was probably 18-19 hours but I did not focus on intentionally.
